62-38-201. DEFINITIONS
- Antibacterial solution:
A solution used to stop the growth of bacteria.
- Antiseptic:
A medicine that is used to inhibit the growth of the germs.
- Approved:
Acceptable or accepted by an authority like the Commissioner or local health officer.
- Aseptic technique:
A procedure used to prevent from infection/contamination.
- Autoclave:
A device used to clean and sterile the instruments making use of temperature and pressure.
- Autoclave indicator:
Tapes, strips or markers used for chemical detection purpose.
- Biohazardous waste:
In one word 'regulated waste.
- Regulated Waste:
A potentially infectious materials, which needs careful handling.
- Blood:
A fluid circulating in a human body.
- Bloodborne pathogens:
Microorganisms present in human blood causing infection or disease. e.g. HBV, HCV and HIV.
- Client:
A person strongly hopes to receive a tattoo.
- Commissioner:
A designation that used for department of health commissioner position.
- Critical item(s):
A provision of this Code that, if in noncompliance, is more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness.
- Disinfectant:
A chemical, which inhibits disease-causing microorganisms.
- Easily cleanable:
Capable of being cleaned.
- Engineering controls:
Controls (eg, sharps disposal containers, self-sheathing needles, safer medical devices, such as sharps with engineered sharps injury…)
