Massachusetts Tattoo Laws
Tattooing body of person by other person, who is not qualified physician :
punishment
As per the section two of chapter one hundred and twelve, or corresponding provisions of earlier laws, a person who is not registered as a qualified physician and marks a tattoo on the body of other person, that person shall be punished and fined with not more than $300 or not more than one year imprisonment, or both of these.

St.1957, c. 76, was approved Feb. 14, 1957.
St.1962, c. 214, approved March 12, 1962, rewrote the section, which prior thereto read:
"whoever marks the body of a person under the age of eighteen years by means of tattooing shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars."
