93.2. Tattooing and body piercing of minors; prohibition

  1. It is unlawful, if a person tattoos other person, who is under the eighteen years age without the consent of his/her parents or tutor of such person even though they accompany him/her.

  2. It is unlawful, if any business entity pierces the body of a person, who is under eighteen years of age and without the consent of a parent or legal custodian of that person.

  3. Person who violates the provisions of this Section, is guilty and shall be fined not less than 100$ and not more than 500$. Also that person be imprisoned for not less than 30 days nor more than 1 year, or both.

2743. Rules For Minimum Sanitary, Safety Standards

In the tattooing services, maintenance of written records that include the color, manufacturer, and lot 2743. Rules for minimum sanitary and safety standards number of each pigment used for each tattoo performed.

Acts 1997, No. 684, in the section heading, new updating is as "and body piercing" inserted following the "Tattooing", and in the very first sentence, "or body pierce" inserted following "tattoo" and it is also "an accompanying parent or tutor" is substituted with "the parents" following "consent of".

Acts 1997, No. 743, in the section heading, "and body piercing of" inserted following "Tattooing" and "; prohibition" added to the end of it and the first sentence of the former text designated as subsec. A, also new subsec. B is added as prohibiting body piercing of minors; and the second sentence of the former text designated as subsec. C.

Acts 1997, No. 684 and Acts 1997, No. 743 amended this section. Pursuant to the statutory revision authority of the Louisiana State Law Institute, the amendments were merged the section heading and text of this section as set forth in Acts 1997, No. 743, and in subsec by printing together. "or body pierce" inserted following "tattoo" and "an accompanying parent or tutor" substituted for "the parents" just after "consent of".
