• Signs of Infection :

  One can have prior information about a tattoo from tattoo artist like some swelling around the tattoo is normal. Also consult the health care provider if one have any of the following signs of infection after getting a tattoo:

  • Continued oozing or bleeding from tattoo.

  • Red streaks or hot sensation moving away from tattoo.

  • Thick yellow or green discharge coming from tattoo.

  • Continuous or increasing pains and or any unusual pain or swelling etc.

• Be Aware of Other Health Issues Like:

  One should not cover a mole with a tattoo, as it could turn cancerous without one knowing it. Also it happens if one tends to form large and bumpy scars in tattoo. While taking any treatment one should let the doctor about tattoos while taking any x-rays and also one should feel comfortable while assessing the tattoos for reactions if any.

  Before getting a tattoo it's better if pregnant ladies or one who have certain medical conditions, like diabetes, consult with the health care provider and tattoo artist. If one has already taken certain drugs or alcohol which may cause more bleeding than the normal conditions, should not get a tattoo.

  If one have to take alcohol or some drugs to get a tattoo or, if one found that the tattoo artist has been drinking alcohol or using any drugs, it's always better one should wait or seek other tattoo artist.

• Tattoo Allergies :

  One can have tattoo allergy, but such cases found very rarely. One can have sensitivity reactions to dyes containing cadmium, mercury, cobalt and chromium etc, but the new pigments don't contain such metals.

  When tattoo get sun exposed may cause irritatation and it looks like allergic patch n body. So it's better to use sunscreen after tattoo gets healed.
