Motorcycle laws in the United States

Before going for a trip to any of the US state, first make sure that you know all the on and off-road motorcycle laws in that state.

Take care of following things you should do and don't while driving a motorcycle in the different US states in general. Motorcycle Laws

  • Use of Helmet - Operator and if passenger is there, both should wear reflectorized helmet.

  • Eye protection - Operator and if any passenger is there, both should wear eye protection.

  • Rearview mirror - Right and left rearview mirrors are must.

  • Wheel brakes - Brakes on both wheels are must.

  • Height of handlebar - It should not be more than 15" above seat, and 10" above attachment point

  • Handgrips - Handgrips should be below the shoulder height.

  • Footrests for passenger - It should be there if you are carrying a passenger.

  • Handhold for Passenger - It should be there if you are carrying a passenger.

  • Turn Signals - Turn Signals are required.

  • Speedometer or Odometer - Speedometer or Odometer are required.

  • Seat for passenger - It should be there if you are carrying a passenger.

  • Daytime use of headlight - It is required to use headlight in daytime.

  • Periodical Inspection - Periodical inspection is required.

  • Use of headphones - Not allowed.
