Utah State's Marriage Ceremony Officiating Requirements

Residency Requirement in Utah: Not necessary to be resident of Utah.

If Previously Married: In case of remarriage, you must know date of divorce or date of spouse's death must be supplied.

Covenant Marriage: No.

Wait Period in Utah: Does not have a waiting period.

Marriage Fees Required in Utah: Approximately $45- $50, only cash is allowed. To verify current cost of the marriage license, check with the country clerk.

Any Other Test Required: Not necessary.

Proxy Marriages: No.

Common Law Marriage Option: Yes.

Cousin Marriage: Yes, but some limitations are there like cousins who are 55 years of age or more than that, will need to give to the district court that they are unable or incapable to reproduction before receiving consent to marry.

Marriage for Same-Sex Options: No.

Under 18 Marriages: If an applicant is under 16 to 17 years of age, then he or she needs to have parent with him or her to fill or sign the consent form. If you are under 15 years of age, will need to have an legal permission from county judge where you reside or from a court commissioner. Applicants under 14 years of age are not allowed to marry in this country.

Marriage Ceremony Officiants in Utah: Any authorized or appointed person or ministers who are at least 18 years of age, spiritual advisors, the Governor, mayors, peace justices, county clerks, senate president, retired judges or magistrates may perform the civil marriages.

Marriage validity period: 30 days.
