Putative Fathers

West Virginia State does not have a Putative Father Registry.

  • What are the registry requirements to receive notice?
    Statute: - §- § 48-22-601(a); 49-3-1(b)(3)
    • A putative father having parental rights and duties (within six months of the birth of child) and information about the child's whereabouts, can receive the notice.
    • If putative father claming to be the father, and on establishment of his child's paternity.
