Laws for Infant safe Haven

• Age Requirements :

  The child must be seventy two hours old or younger.

• The following may relinquish the Infant :

• The following may receive the Infant :

  • Any medical staff member at a hospital
  • Volunteer or employee at a hospital
  • Emergency medical technician at a fire station.

• Safe Haven Provider Responsibilities :
  Statute: - § 13.34.360
  • Make available referral information to the parents.
  • Offering some opportunities for the parents to provide medical information.
  • They must notify the services related to child protection within twenty four hours.
  • Protection from anonymous parents.

• Parental Rights :
  Statute: - § 13.34.360
  • Custody of the child must be assumed by the Child protective services.
