Laws for Infant safe Haven

• Age Requirements :
  Statute: Title 10, - § 7115.1

  A child must be seven days old or younger.

• The following may relinquish the Infant :

  • Parents.

• Safe Haven Provider Responsibilities :
  Statute: Title 10, - § 7115.1
  • They should take any act necessary for child's health.
  • They can obtain information about child.
  • They must notify the department.

• The following may receive the Infant :
  Statute: Title 10, - § 7115.1
  • Hospital or other medical emergency facility
  • Fire station
  • Police station
  • CPS agency
  • Medical Service Provider

• Parental Rights :
  Statute: Title 10, - § 7115.1
  • Information like reunification and counseling will be provided by the Department.
