Arrangement of adoptions must be carried by:- A licensed agency or
- An attorney
- Followings may adopt a child :
Statute: - § 3107.03- A couple (husband and wife) together.
- A minor parents or unmarried parent.
Legally separated married person/adult.
Putative Fathers
Ohio State requires a Putative Father Registry.
- What are the registry requirements to receive notice?
Statute: - § 3107.062- A putative father must complete the registration form of Dept. of Job and Family Services.
- He may file before the birth of child or within the thirty days after the birth of child.
- Registry Information :
Statute: - § 3107.062- Name, address or phone number of the putative father
- Name of the birth mother
- Form receipt date
- Paternity Revocation (of claim):
Statute: None - Registry Information Access :
Statute: - § 3107.063- The birth mother, a licensed agency and an attorney arranging the adoption of the child can access the registry information.
