- A legal guardian
- A parents
- A person having a legal custody of the child
- Followings may adopt a child :
Statute:- An adult.
- Spouse may not adopt between themselves.
Putative Fathers
North Carolina State does not have a Putative Father Registry.
- What are the registry requirements to receive notice?
Statute: - §- § 48-2-206(a), (c); 48-2-401- The putative father may file within fifteen days from the date of notice of adoption.
- If he fails to respond, then he is not entitled to further proceedings notice.
