Adopting Parties
- Followings may place a child for adoption:
Statute: - § 43-105- The parents, the department of Health and Human Services and license holding and child-placing agency may place the child for adoption.
- Followings may adopt a child :
Statute: - § 43-101- Any adult
- Husband and wife together may adopt the child
Putative Fathers
Nebraska State requires a Putative Father Registry.
- What are the registry requirements to receive notice?
Statute: - § 43-104.02- The putative father needs to complete the form of DHHSFS (Dept. of Health and Human Services Finance and Support).
- The putative father can file within the five days after the birth of the child or within the five days after receipt of adoption proceeding's notice.
- Registry Information :
Statute: - § 43-104.01(1)- Name and address of a person who is adjudicated by the court to be the father of the child.
- Name and address of the person who has filed a notice.
- Paternity Revocation (of claim):
Statute: - § 43-104.01(3)- A putative father can revoke a paternity claim.
- Registry Information Access :
Statute: - § 43-104.01(4)-(5)- Anybody who is authorized by the court for valid reason shown.
