Laws for Infant safe Haven

• Age Requirements :
  Statute: - § 210.950

  A child must be thirty days old or younger.

• The following may relinquish the Infant :

  • The parents (biological)
  • A person directed by the parents

• The following may receive the Infant :
  Statute: - § 210.950
  • Emergency medical technician, firefighter, employees from the hospital, law enforcement officer etc., may receive the infant.

• Safe Haven Provider Responsibilities :
  Statute: - § 210.950
  • They should provide the required medical care to the child.
  • They must notify the local juvenile officer and family services division.
  • Provide the medical help and take the custody of the child.
