About adoption consent

  • For whom it is must to consent to adoption : Statute : - § 710.43

    • Surviving parent
    • The authorized child placing-agency.
    • The guardian of child.
    • The court having permanent custody to whom the child has been released
    • The minor's parent, the parent of the adoptee is a minor.

  • Age required of an adoptee to consent of adoptee: Statute: - § 710.43

    For the adoption child must be 14 years or above of the age.

  • No need of parental consent: Statute: - §- § 710.37; 710.43; 710.51(6)

    • Fatherhood or interest in custody denied by the putative father.
    • Child's putative father fails to responds to the notice of adoption.
    • If the putative father and its location is unknown and there is no any provision for the child's care.
    • Putative father fails to put record of notice before the expected date of confinement, he wives rights to the child.
    • Parents unable to give support.
    • Parental authority may be finished.

Advertising used and facilitators in adoptive placements

  • Advertisement used :
    • Not addressed.

  • Intermediaries or facilitators use : Statute: MCL - §- § 722.124b(c)-(d); 722.956

    • Any one like adoption facilitator that is a child placing agency or any of the attorney or adoptive parents.
    • Primary adoption facilitators keep records of court documents on parents which are adoptive.
