Adoption parties
- Who can adopt: Statute: Ch. 210 - § 1
- Minor with spouse to adopt natural child of one of the parties.
- An adult person.
- Husband and wife jointly can adopt.
- Who can be adopted: Statute : Statute: Ch. 210 - § 1
- A person who is younger than the petitioner, except for aunt or uncle, spouse or sibling.
- Who can place a child for adoption : Statute: Ch. 210, - §- § 2; 11A
- Department of Social Services .
- Licensed child placing agency.
- The parent(s) of a child.
