How to access adoption records?
- Obtaining the non identifying information:
Adopted adults may give the written to the court to prove their medical and family history, if the birth parents had placing agency's policy.
- Obtain identifying information:
Adoption Registry and confidential intermediary system provides the identifying information .Except, you may see the original birth certificate given.
- Obtain an original birth certificate:
The adoptee must have to give the written to the court containing the finalization of the adoption ,receive if the adoption was finalized after July 1,1947 and before January 1,2000.
Adopted adults of age of 21 or more than can receive there original birth certificates , report of the decree or judgment of adoption ,finalized after January 1,2000.
The identifying information may be deleted if the birth parents files a revel veto. The adopted adults may receive there original birth certificate after the finalization for adoption before July 1, 1947.
- Use of the adoption registry:
To register, adults as well as parents or siblings must have completed the age of 21 or may be older than.
