Adoption expenses regulation

• Appropriate and customary charges and fees for medical or legal services.

Expenses allowed for adoption arrangment: Statute: Fam. - § 5-327(a)(1)

A person or organization may not receive compensation for arranging an adoptive placement.

Expenses allowed for child relinquishment : Statute: Crim. 27 - § 35E

• A person may not buy or offer a child to sell at any cost.

Fees allowed for charges by agency or department : Statute: Fam. - § 5-327(b)

• The licensed agency or social services administration can receive reimbursement for cost of adoptive services. Accounting of Expenses Required by Court.

Expenses accounting court requirment : Statute : Fam. - § 5-327(c)

• Petitioner can file an accounting of payment in an independent adoption.
