About adoption consent

  • For whom it is must to consent to adoption : Statute : Tit. 18-A, - § 9-302

      Each alive parent until sanction has been waived or anyone with a official custody or guardian selected by the court.

  • Age required of an adoptee to consent of adoptee: Statute: Tit. 18-A, - § 9-302

    • Each alive parent until sanction has been waived.
    • Anyone with a official custody.
    • Guardian those are selected by the court.
    • Child with 14 years or above of the age.

  • No need of parental consent: Statute: Tit. 18-A, - §- § 9-302; 9-201

    • The child neglected by the parent or parent unable to take responsibility of his child
    • The rights of parents have been finished
    • The child is 18 or above of his age
    • A putative father unsuccessful to give response to notice

Advertising used and facilitators in adoptive placements

  • Advertisement used : Statute: Title 18-A, - § 9-313

    Adoption services advertising or soliciting adoption is illegal so licensed child placing agencies advertise using the rules adopted by the department.
