How to access adoption records?
- Obtaining the non identifying information:
Parents can get non identifying information on placement of a child for adoption process.
- Obtaining identifying information:
Adoption Registry provides identifying information.
- Obtain the original birth certificate:
An adoptee must have to give written request to the court in which the adoption was finalized.
- Access to adoption registry:
Adopted adults of age 18 or older, birth parents and siblings may use the registry and it needs one hour counseling.
