- Child should be of age 72 hours minimum or may be younger than this.

- Any one.
- Who may receive the infant : Statute: - §- § 216B.190; 405.075
- Any fire fighters.
- Any one from the emergency medical services providers.
- Any police officer.
- Responsibilities of the safe haven provider : Statute: - § 216B.190
- Should notify about it to the 'Department of Community Based Services'.
- Should provide all required medical care to the child.
- Try to collect the medical and health related information.
- Immunity for provider : Statute: - § 216B.190 Yes.
- Protection for relinquishing parent : Statute: - §- § 216B.190; 620.350
- The mother should provide her identity proof and name and address to person accepting her child.
- Mother shall not be prosecuted for cruelty to a child and shall not contributed to the deprivation of child, or abandonment, and the child is not more than one week old.
- Effect on the parental rights : Statute: - § 620.350
- Petition about terminating the parental rights can be filed after 30 days.
- Before finalizing the termination, Parent(s) can also file any claim related to the parental rights.
