    • Have to notify about the local law enforcement.
    • Have to take custody of the child.
    • Perform act to protect the safety or health of the child

  • Immunity for provider : Statute: - § 38-15,100

  • Protection for relinquishing parent : Statute: - § 21-3604

    • Anybody leaving a child with a safe haven may not prosecuted for abandonment if the child has not suffered any harm.

  • Effect on the parental rights : Statute: - § 38-1529

    • A petition can be filed for termination of parental rights and also notified that the court find that reunification is not a suitable alternative.

    • On the petition an expedited hearing will be held.
