- Anybody leaving a child with a safe haven may not prosecuted for abandonment if the child has not suffered any harm.
Effect on the parental rights : Statute: - § 38-1529
- A petition can be filed for termination of parental rights and also notified that the court find that reunification is not a suitable alternative.
- On the petition an expedited hearing will be held.
