Adoption expenses regulation
Expenses allowed for birth parent : Statute: - § 600.9(2)
- Fees for counseling given by birth parents.
- Fees required legally.
- Mother can get the pregnancy and child birth related hospital care.
- Any of the living expenses of the mother of a child.
Expenses not allowed for birth parent : Statute: - § 600.9(2)
- Living expenses other than room and board, and not to extend beyond 30 days after child's birth.
Expenses allowed for adoption arrangment : Statute: - § 600.9(1)(b)
- Any individual who help in placing a child for adoption do not have to give any fees more than necessity by the services used.
Expenses allowed for child relinquishment : Statute: - § 600.9(1)(a)
- Except the allowable expense done by the birth parent(s) of a child, they can not get value for placement of a child for adoption.
Fees allowed for charges by agency or department : Statute: - § 600.8(6)
- Fees can never be more than a reasonable cost of facilities used while placing a child for adoption.
- If any investigation is required, it may have a charge.
Expenses accounting court requirment : Statute: - § 600.9(2)
- It is possible for a petitioner to file total accounting to the court, with signed and cross verified copy of expenses done related to the adoption.
