How to access adoption records?
- Obtaining the non identifying information:
The soon to be or adoptive parents may obtain the genetic, medical information of the child.
- Obtaining the identifying information:
The identifying information is available with Adoption Registry.
- Obtain an original birth certificate:
For the certificate, the adopted child must request formally in the court in which his/her adoption procedure is completed or birth parents.
- Using the Adoption Registry:
The Adoption Registry can be used by the biological parents, birth siblings, and adopted adults and also by the relatives of the late biological parent or an adopted adult. One birth parent's details will not be given without the permission of other birth parent, unless the other parent is departed or if there is only one parent specified on the birth certificate.

Advertising used and facilitators in adoptive placements
- Advertisement used : Statute: - § 18-1512A(1)
- No one allowed individually to publish or produce advertise on any of the public broadcast mediums like TV and radio in this state about providing adoption placement, adopting or placing a child for adoption etc.
