  • Who can be adopted: Statute : - § - § 16-1501; 16-1502; 16-1503

    • Any mature personality of state Idaho. The specific requirements are specified in statute.
    • The spouse of a birth parent can not adopt the child
    • Person except spouse of birth parent must be 15 years older than the adopted child
    • Person should have age 25 or older than that
    • If the willing person is married then it must require consent of his/her spouse.

  • Who can place a child for adoption : - § 16-1504

    • Child's parent, legal guardian or legal custodian.
