Adoption parties
- Who can adopt: Statute: - § 578-1
- A married couple jointly
- An unmarried person of age 21 or more
- Any spouse of the birth parent.
- Who can be adopted: Statute : - § 578-1.5
- Any one of age 21 or more with the written consent.
- Anybody individually
- Who can place a child for adoption : Statute : - § 578-2
- Any of the child placement agencies which are licensed to do so.
- Any of the Parent(s) or the legal guardians of the child
