Adoption parties
- Who can adopt: Statute: - §- § 45a-724; 45a-726a; 45a-732
Any adult person can adopt, with the following information provided in written:
- The Commissioner is not required to place a child with a person who is bisexual r homosexual.
- Both the husband and wife must adopt jointly unless excepted by the court.
- The adopter sexual orientation is considered when placing a child.
- Who can be adopted: Statute: - §- § 45a-724; 45a-725
- Any child of age less than 18 years legally free for adoption, as per this section.
- Who can place a child for adoption: - §- § 45a-724; 45a-726
- Any child placing-agency
- The Commissioner of Children and Families
- The child's guardians
- Statutory parent
