About adoption consent
- For whom it is must to consent to adoption : Statute: - § 45a-724
- An unmarried mother, after receiving notice by the putative father about rights termination.

- Any statutory parent

A child of age 12 years or older must consent to the adoption.
- No need of parental consent: Statute: - § 45a-717(f)-(g)
When Parent has:
- Caused the child non-accidental injury
- Failed to continue relationship with the child for at least a year
- Abandoned the child
- Had rights terminated
- Killed other child of the parent or was convicted of sexual assault resulting in the conception of a child
- Execution of consent: Statute: - § 45a-715(d)
The mother can not consent within the 48 hours after the child's birth.

- A guardian ad litem approve relinquishment by a minor parent.
- A court approve the petition for voluntary relinquishment.

- The court will give priority to the child's best interests.
