Adoption parties

    • Any adult of age at least 10 years r may be older than a child, except under conditions specified.

Advertising used and promoters in adoption process

  • Advertisement used : Statute :Family - § - 8609(a)
    • Any one personally or any organization can not advertise in the newspaper, any of the public medium, or by radio, about placing or proving a place for adoption, or can not because the advertisement in public medium soliciting, asking or requesting for children for adoption to be published, until those are licensed by the department, for adopting the children.

  • Intermediaries or promoters use : Statute: Family - § 8623 - 8638
    • 'Adoption facilitator' can be a single person or an organization, licensed for adoption, that advertise for soliciting adoption parties and for locating adoptee, or behaves like a intermediary in whole adoption procedures.
    • Following are the different requirements for adoption promoters:
      1. Adopting parents should give written information known to them from the birth parents about the adopted child.
      2. Fees and or any expenses paid have to be reported to court.
      3. Parties should describe services they provide.
      4. Any advertising should disclose identity of the facilitator and clear that it is not an adoption agency.
